Morocco eVisa eligibility
You can use the Morocco eVisa if you need a visa for Morocco and meet one of three conditions: your nationality is on a short list, you live in a qualifying country, or you already hold a qualifying multiple-entry visa.

Quick check
- Is your passport an ordinary passport, valid for at least 90 days from the day you apply? If not, the eVisa is not available to you. Holders of diplomatic, service or special passports, refugee or stateless travel documents and other travel documents cannot use the eVisa and should apply at the Moroccan embassy or consulate that covers their place of residence.
- Is your nationality in Category A? If yes, you can apply on your passport alone.
- If not, do you live in a Category B country with a residence permit valid for at least 180 days? If yes, you can apply as a resident.
- If not, do you hold a Category C multiple-entry visa valid for at least 90 days? If yes, you can apply on the strength of that visa.
- None of the above? You may not need anything at all (many nationalities are visa-exempt), you may need an AEVM, or you may need to apply for a visa at a Moroccan embassy or consulate. Our results by nationality show examples of each outcome.
Category A: eligible by nationality
Ordinary-passport holders of the following countries can apply without any other visa or residence permit, provided the passport is valid for at least 90 days from the date of the application:
- Benin
- Brunei Darussalam
- Cambodia
- Guatemala
- India
- Israel
- Jordan
- Laos
- Thailand
- Vietnam
On 15 October 2026 we confirmed each of these in the official eligibility checker (passport holder living in their own country, no other visa): every one returned “submit your eVisa application”. See the full results on Morocco eVisa by nationality.
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan also appears in Category A of the 2024 eVisa terms, but on 15 October 2026 the official eligibility checker told Azerbaijani ordinary-passport holders that they need neither a visa nor an AEVM.
Category B: eligible by residence
If you need a visa for Morocco but you live in one of these countries, you can apply with your residence document:
- European Union member states
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Canada
- Australia
- Japan
- Norway
- New Zealand
- Switzerland
- United Arab Emirates
Conditions:
- Ordinary passport valid for at least 90 days from the date of the application.
- Residence card or residence permit valid for at least 180 days on the date of the application.
You will upload a clear colour copy of the residence card or permit, front and back. The official terms do not accept receipts for an application, renewal or extension of a residence card, special certificates, work permits or circulation documents in its place.
Category C: eligible by visa held
If you need a visa for Morocco but already hold a visa issued by one of the following, you can apply on the strength of that visa:
- Schengen area
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Ireland
- Canada
- Australia
- Japan
- Norway
- New Zealand
Conditions:
- Ordinary passport valid for at least 90 days on the date of the application.
- Multiple-entry, non-electronic visa valid for at least 90 days from the date of the eVisa application.
You will upload a clear colour copy of the qualifying visa with your application.
How residence and visas change the result
The same passport can lead to different answers. These are results we recorded from the official checker on 15 October 2026 for a Pakistani ordinary passport, a nationality that is not in Category A:
| Passport | Lives in | Other valid visa | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pakistan | Pakistan | None | Apply for a visa at an embassy or consulate |
| Pakistan | United Kingdom | None | Apply for an eVisa |
| Pakistan | Pakistan | Schengen visa | Apply for an eVisa |
Without a qualifying residence permit or visa, the checker directs this traveller to an embassy visa. Living in the United Kingdom (Category B) or holding a Schengen visa (Category C) makes the eVisa available. Our guide to the eVisa with a Schengen, UK or US visa or residence permit covers both routes step by step.
Purpose of the trip
The eVisa is issued for tourism or business only. Business travellers must add a document showing the purpose of the trip; see eVisa requirements and our guide to business trips. An eVisa cannot be used to apply for residency in Morocco.
Children
Each traveller, including a child, needs their own eVisa. Children under 18 travelling on an eVisa may enter Morocco only with a parent or legal representative. Families and groups can group their applications into a single file so that all applications are processed together.
