Morocco visa for Nigerians
Last checked · Morocco eVisa rules guide (PDF)
Short answer
With a Nigerian passport alone you need a visa from a Moroccan embassy or consulate. You can use the eVisa instead if you live in a qualifying country, such as the UK, an EU country or the US, or hold a qualifying multiple-entry visa, such as a Schengen, US or UK visa.
What the official check said
Results from Morocco's official online eligibility check on 15 October 2026, for an ordinary passport and a tourist trip:
| Situation | Result |
|---|---|
| Nigerian passport, living in Nigeria, no other visa | Embassy or consulate visa |
| Nigerian passport, living in the United Kingdom | eVisa |
| Nigerian passport, holding a Schengen visa | eVisa |
For Nigerian passport holders the answer depends on where you live and which visas you already hold. On its own, a Nigerian passport leads to an embassy visa. If you live in one of the listed countries, such as the UK, or already hold a qualifying Schengen, UK or US visa, the online eVisa is available instead.
If you qualify through a visa, check its type before you apply: it must be a multiple-entry, non-electronic visa with at least 90 days of validity left. If you qualify through residence, your residence card or permit must be valid for at least 180 days on the day you apply. Receipts for pending renewals are not accepted. Questions from Nigerian citizens
Do Nigerians need a visa for Morocco?
Yes. With a Nigerian passport and no residence permit or visa from another listed country, the official eligibility check asks for a visa from a Moroccan embassy or consulate.
Can Nigerians apply for the Morocco eVisa?
Yes, if they qualify through residence or a visa they already hold. A Nigerian living in a listed country such as the UK, an EU country or the US with a residence permit valid for at least 180 days can apply. So can a Nigerian holding a multiple-entry Schengen, US, UK or other listed visa valid for at least 90 days.
I live in Nigeria and have a valid UK visa. Can I use the eVisa?
Yes, if it is a multiple-entry, non-electronic visa that is still valid for at least 90 days on the day you apply. The UK is one of the listed visa issuers (Category C).
What if I have a single-entry Schengen visa?
It does not qualify. The visa route requires a multiple-entry visa. In that case apply at the Moroccan embassy or consulate that covers your place of residence.
How long can I stay with a Morocco eVisa?
Up to 30 days, with a single entry. The eVisa can be valid for up to 180 days from issue.
