Morocco electronic travel authorisation (AEVM)
The AEVM (Autorisation Électronique de Voyage au Maroc) is Morocco's electronic travel authorisation. It is sometimes called the Morocco eTA. It is a separate online request from the eVisa, aimed at travellers who do not need a visa but must be authorised before they travel.

Who needs an AEVM?
The official AEVM page describes the AEVM as a document required for nationals of countries that do not need a visa to enter Morocco, with three exceptions.
When we checked Morocco's official eligibility rules on 15 October 2026, ordinary-passport holders of these four countries were directed to request an AEVM:
| Passport | Result |
|---|---|
| Ecuador | Request an AEVM |
| Ghana | Request an AEVM |
| Guinea | Request an AEVM |
| Republic of the Congo | Request an AEVM |
Other visa-exempt passports were not asked for one. For example, the checker told a British citizen living in the United Kingdom that neither a visa nor an AEVM was needed:
| Passport | Result |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | No visa or AEVM needed |

The list of nationalities can change, so confirm your requirements shortly before you book and travel.
Who does not need an AEVM
The official AEVM rules list three exceptions:
- Holders of a valid Moroccan residence permit.
- Travellers in transit through Morocco who do not leave the airport or port.
- Nationals married to a Moroccan citizen, who must carry supporting documents when they arrive.
Documents
The request form asks you to attach:

- Identity card or residence card
- Passport identity page
