The Morocco eVisa is not only for holidays. The official terms state that it is issued for tourism or business, and business is one of the travel purposes you can select when checking eligibility. Here is what changes when you travel for work.
Who can use the eVisa for business
Eligibility is the same as for tourists. You need a visa for Morocco and must meet one of the three categories:
- Category A: an ordinary passport from a listed country, such as India, Jordan, Thailand or Vietnam.
- Category B: residence in a listed country, such as an EU member state, the US or the UK, with a residence permit valid for at least 180 days.
- Category C: a multiple-entry visa, valid for at least 90 days, from a listed issuer such as the Schengen area, the US or the UK.
Your passport must be an ordinary passport valid for at least 90 days from the date of the application. Full details: eVisa eligibility.
The extra document: proof of purpose
Business applications must include a document that justifies the business purpose of the trip. The official terms give these examples:
- a recommendation from the responsible ministry, for public procurement
- a written recommendation from the relevant professional chamber, for private procurement
- an invitation from the organiser of a fair or exhibition you are taking part in
- an invitation from an industrial, commercial or service company
- any other proof of the purpose of the trip
Like all attachments, it must be a JPG, JPEG or PDF file of no more than 1 MB.
Same limits as a tourist eVisa
A business eVisa has the same conditions as any other eVisa:
- one entry only
- a stay of up to 30 days
- validity of up to 180 days from issue
- official fee of 770 MAD (standard, 3 business days) or 1,100 MAD (express, 1 business day)
If your work involves several trips, remember that one eVisa covers one entry, and stays granted by several eVisas cannot be combined.
Attending an event
If you are going to Morocco for an event, say so when you check eligibility: there is a separate “eVisa for Event” route alongside the standard eVisa.
What the eVisa does not cover
The eVisa cannot be used to apply for residency in Morocco. If your plans go beyond a short tourism or business trip, check with a Moroccan embassy or consulate.
At the border
Carry your eVisa with your passport and expect the same checks as other travellers: border officers may ask for a return ticket, proof of funds and insurance. See the border documents guide.
