Families applying for the Morocco eVisa follow the same rules as adult travellers, with one important addition about who a child travels with. Here is what the official eVisa terms say, and how to plan a family application.
Every traveller needs their own eVisa
The official terms describe the eVisa as an authorisation for one person. Children are not added to a parent’s eVisa: each child needs an eVisa in their own name, with their own photo and passport copy.
Each child must also qualify in their own right under one of the three eligibility categories:
- Category A: the child holds an ordinary passport from a listed country.
- Category B: the child lives in a listed country and has a residence card or permit valid for at least 180 days.
- Category C: the child holds a multiple-entry visa from a listed issuer, valid for at least 90 days.
The child’s passport must be an ordinary passport valid for at least 90 days from the date of the application. See eVisa eligibility for the full lists.
Children must travel with a parent or legal representative
According to the terms, a minor under 18 who holds an eVisa may enter Morocco only with one of their parents or a legal representative. The rule as written does not provide for a child travelling with grandparents, a school group or another adult who is not their legal representative. In that situation, contact a Moroccan embassy or consulate before making plans.
Apply as one family file
The official terms suggest that families and groups combine their applications into a single file, so that every application in the file is processed together. This avoids one family member being approved days before another.
A practical order of work:
- Check eligibility for each family member, especially if family members hold different nationalities or residence documents.
- Collect a photo and passport copy for every traveller, plus residence permits or visas where relevant.
- Enter every application in the same file before validating.
- Check every name, date of birth and passport number against the passports.
- Validate and pay once, then track the file.
Photos for children
The same photo rules apply to everyone: a good-quality colour photo, 35 × 45 mm, taken within the last 6 months, with the face clearly visible and meeting the ICAO standard. Children’s appearance changes quickly, so make sure the photo is recent.
Fees and timing
There is no separate child rate: the government charges one standard fee (770 MAD) and one express fee (1,100 MAD) per eVisa. See fees and processing time. Remember that paid applications cannot be cancelled or refunded.
At the border
Bring every child’s passport and eVisa, and be ready to show the documents border officers may ask for, such as return tickets, proof of funds and insurance. Our border documents guide has a checklist.
